- Max Richter Premieres New Short Film “On The Nature Of Daylight” starring Elisabeth Moss
- West German-born British composer Max Richter premiered a new short film “On The Nature Of Daylight” starring American actress Elisabeth Moss.
The film was shot in Toronto, Canada in March 2018, directed by George Belfield, with Steve Annis as director of photography.
Originally, the song appeared on his second album "The Blue Notebooks", which was released in 2004. But the album will be reissued on June 29th to mark its 15th anniversary.
The track was used as a theme for 2016's film "Arrival" directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner.
The film received eight nominations and won for Best Sound Editing at the 89th Academy Awards. Also, it received Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score.
Elisabeth Moss currently stars in Hulu's adaptation of Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale", for which she recently won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama.
- Elisabeth Moss said of the video in a statement;
“My work has been inspired by his music for so many years and not a day goes by on set where I don’t have Max’s music playing in my ears before a take.
His music and my acting have gone hand in hand for a long time. So for me the opportunity to act to one of his most prolific pieces was such an incredible honor.”
