  • Lucy Dacus Premieres New Song “Night Shift”

  • Richmond-based indie rock singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus has released a new song "Night Shift" from her forthcoming sophomore album "Historian", which is expected to be released on March 2, 2018.

    The song is opening track of the album and recorded last March in Nashville.

    About the new song, Lucy Dacus said;
    "This is the only breakup song I've ever written. For a long time I didn't believe expressing this sort of negativity was productive, but it's less productive to resist the truth of a situation. It's a hopeful song."

  • The new album comprises 10-track and is her first LP in three years since her debut album "No Burden", which was produced in Nashville by her hometown friends, Berklee College of Music graduate, Collin Pastore and Oberlin Conservatory of Music graduate, Jacob Blizard.
    She stated about the new album, "[The album] starts out dark and ends hopeful, but it gets darker in between; it goes to the deepest, darkest, place and then breaks. What I'm trying to say throughout the album is that hope survives, even in the face of the worst stuff."
