Los Angeles-based German singer-songwriter Kim Petras has signed to Republic Records and released the first single called “Future Starts Now” under her new label.
The track was written by Alex Chapman, lil aaron, Aaron Joseph, Dr. Luke, Vaughn Oliver and Kim Petras.
She first performed the song at Lollapalooza in Chicago in July.
Kim Petras said of the song, “I felt so anxious at the start of lockdown, because for me the most anxiety-inducing thing is not being able to work and do what I love. 'Future Starts Now' came from trying to stay present, instead of stressing about the future and all the lost time.”
Also, she announced her upcoming EP “Turn Off the Light, Vol. 3” would be released in 2021.
The EP is the third part of trilogy, following “Turn Off the Light, Vol. 1” and “Turn Off the Light, Vol. 2”.
Initially, the EP was supposed to be released the EP in 2020, but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.- source : Spotify
