Demi Lovato Drops Political Ballad “Commander In Chief”
- American singer-songwriter Demi Lovato dropped the political ballad called “Commander In Chief” on October 14, 2020.
She worked with Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter and FINNEAS for the song. Also, she has already filmed the music video, which will be premiered on October 15th.
The track is a stern message to President Donald Trump. “There's been so many times that I've wanted to write the President a letter or sit down with him and ask him these questions," Demi Lovato told CNN. "And then I thought, I don't really actually want to do that and I thought one way that I could do that is writing a song and releasing it for the whole world to hear and then he has to answer those questions to everyone and not just me.”
She continued, “We have to turn up and vote because it's so important that our voices are heard. And, honestly, for me, whether you are a Republican or Democrat, just get out and vote. Bring it on," Lovato said. “Prove to them you're exactly who I said you are in the song. Just do it, go for it.”
She will perform the political ballad live during the Billboard Music Awards, which NBC will air on Wednesday (October 14th).
