Lokoy Releases New Song “never missed you like i do now”
- Bassist of Norwegian pop punk band Sløtface, Lasse Lokøy, aka Lokoy has unveiled a new song “never missed you like i do now”.
The song follows up his latest album “Classic City Girl: The Reworks” released back in June.
Also, the track will appear on his upcoming album, due for release early next year via Propeller Recordings.
“I’d recently bought two new synthesisers when we arrived Berlin," Lokoy said. "We’d stopped to load off the van when some guys managed to mug us while we were behind the vehicle. They got away with two guitars and one of my new synths. Luckily they didn’t take my backpack where my mac was with the first draft of never missed you like i do now. My other synth also survived which I later on used for the melody for the single”.
He worked with Norwegian songwriter and guitarist Mikhael Paskalev for the song.
He said, “I guess I’m coming to a point in my life where I’m really starting to realise that everything around me is temporary. For example, my parents are getting older. And now thoughts like “I have to spend time with them before it’s too late” are new to me. That’s what sparked the line “I never missed you like I do now”. Though Chloe, who sings on the track, interpreted the line completely different, which I love. For me that chorus means many things, because it has different intentions behind it.”
