Vigils Premieres New Music Video for “Grinning”
French-American rock/metal band Vigils has dropped a new music video for “Grinning” directed by Robyn August.
The video was premiered exclusively on Alternative Press.
The song is the second single of the 2018, following the previously released song "Spinning".
Both songs will appear on their debut EP "Spinning", which is set to be released on November 16th.
The video follows the life of someone followed by a demon, who mirrors his actions in all aspects of his life and follows him wherever he goes. The character wants happy pill called “Grintax” to help himself from his demon.
The video is inspired from Netflix's Science Fiction TV "Black Mirror".
“Through this music video, we wanted to talk about the influence of the media on our lifestyle, our way of consuming and some problems of addiction,” Guitarist Enzo Aldasoro said. “The music video clearly shows a person in distress who falls under the influence of the media, and his life becomes only worse.”- Enzo Aldasoro explained the song, “It’s about realizing that [the] person you were so broken over wasn’t worth the energy you put in or the pain you were feeling.” he said. “The rose-colored glasses come off, and you can finally see the person for who they really were,” he continues, “Oftentimes, what you see is nothing good.”
Vigils was formed in 2017 between New-York, Los Angeles and Biarritz. The band consists of Gil Catalano (Vocals), Enzo Aldasoro (Guitar), Shura (Guitar), Yann Marchadour (Guitar) and Romain Brois (Bass).
