  • Alice Russell Announces New Album “I Am”, Shares New Song “I See You”

  • British soul singer-songwriter Alice Russell has announced that her new album “I Am” will be released on April 5, 2024.

The album is her first body of work in 11 years since the 2013 album “To Dust” and comprises a 9-track.
She wrote and produced with long-time collaborator TM Juke on the album.
The album is about life, loss, and grief, which have been central parts of this period and represent a new approach to creating music.
Alice Russell said of the album, “It's been a wee while for me... and this album, I went deep. I really can't wait to see how it lands.”
From the album, she released the second single “I See You” on January 25, 2024.
The track was written and produced by Alice Russell and TM Juke.
The song is a piano ballad about overcoming adversity despite experiencing trauma through childhood.
  • Alice Russell said of the song, “I felt like I was singing to the child, but also the child that dwells in many seemingly grown-up people, walking around their sadness and pain, arrested development as no one ever showed them the way and let's face it, takes a certain kind of allowance, safety and strength to be ready for therapy, and many don't get to that point of being able to see their own beauty.”
She shared on social media, “So this new single 'I See You' came from being asked to write a song around the theme, well about the theme of 'Care'. The rather amazeballs Sissay Lemn was curating the Brighton Festival and he chose the theme 'Care.' I shut my self in our box room and listened to this beat with piano on it Alex Cowan had sent me before and… 'I See You' pretty much came out all in one. A full bowlful, lyrics and melody together (a rare happening!)”
