  • Ghostly Kisses Announces New Album “Darkroom”, Shares New Song “On & Off”

  • French-Canadian dream pop duo Ghostly Kisses, consisting of Margaux Sauvé and Louis-Étienne Santais, has announced their sophomore album “Darkroom” will be released May 17, 2024.

It is their first album in two years since the 2022 debut album “Heaven, Wait” and comprises a 12-track.
After the release of the debut album, the duo launched their “Box of Secrets” initiative, giving fans an anonymous place to share their most personal thoughts.
The duo reflected these shared experiences on the new album, which intricately weaves a tapestry of emotions, delving into themes of heartbreak, grief, and personal discovery.
Margaux Sauvé said, “We heard from a lot of fans from countries where they couldn't openly love the person they were in love with for political or social reasons. I felt that pain, identified with it in my own way, and knew many others would too.”
She continued, “We were astonished by the number of responses we've received, as well as how moving they were. Your stories have been a profound source of inspiration, and we've put our hearts into writing new songs that reflect the universal themes gathered from the Box of Secrets; every song on Darkroom is inspired by bits and pieces of your lives.”
  • From the album, the duo released the second single called “On & Off” on January 24, 2024, following “Golden Eyes”.
The track was written by Louis-Étienne Santais and Margaux Sauvé. Produced by Louis-Étienne Santais and Oli Bayston,
Margaux Sauvé said of the song, “'On & Off' depicts a complex and tumultuous cyclical relationship where two people constantly break off and get back together. The lyrics draw inspiration from a revelation in the 'Box Of Secrets' - which was the conceptual inspiration behind our new album 'Darkroom'. These narratives have been gleaned from various stories within the Ghostly Kisses community. We looked to instil a sense of nostalgia into the rhythm, to pair ethereal vocals with a sense of yearning.”
