Tara MacLean Releases New Song “Kiss in December” featuring Catherine MacLellan & KINLEY
Canadian folk-pop singer-songwriter Tara MacLean released a new song “Kiss in December” on November 24, 2023.
The song is her first single since her latest album “Sparrow”, which was released back in March.
This time, she collaborated with Canadian folk singer-songwriter Catherine MacLellan and Canadian singer-songwriter KINLEY on the track.
The track was written by Tara MacLean, and Catherine MacLellan, who also produced it.
“The song was inspired by a kiss I had many Decembers ago that changed my life,” Tara MacLean said of the song. “When I was feeling heartbroken years ago, I wrote this song's lyrics in the form of a poem. The east coast of Canada in the winter is a tough season to be alone and missing someone, but there is also something romantic about it. 'Kiss in December' paints a picture of warmth and cold at once.”- She continued, “I reunited with my past collaborator, Catherine MacLellan, who also produced this song. Our fathers were a touring duo when we were growing up.”
She added, “I love walking around the harbour at night in the winter, no matter the weather. I bundle up and the sky is often crystal clear and the stars are brighter. It's beautiful. 'Kiss in December' makes me feel that sweet melancholy of walking in the snow alone, sitting by the ocean when it's full of ice, reflecting on life and love.” -
