Junebug Releases New Song “Therapy”
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Carolyn Fahrner, aka Junebug released a new song “Therapy” on September 5, 2023.
The song will appear on her upcoming sophomore EP “My Therapist Told Me”, which is set to be released on October 18, 2023.
The track was written by Carolyn Fahrner and produced by Allen Tate.
Carolyn Fahrner said of the song, “I wrote 'Therapy' shortly after graduating college, uncertain of what I wanted to do going forward. While the song feels distant from where I am considering I wrote it two years ago, I have a lot of empathy for this version of myself. I wrote this song as a confessional. It's a brutally honest reflection of how I had been living my life - and at the same time, it's commentary over my own tendency to overpathologize myself and think myself into a hole.”
She continued, Three years later this song is title track of my sophomore EP, 'My Therapist Told Me' coming in October. This song feels far away from where I am now, writing this song was a confessional of impostor syndrome and being a chronic people pleaser. I hope some of you can relate to that feeling.”
- The new EP is her first project in two years since the 2021 debut EP “Turncoat”.
In the creation of this EP, Carolyn Fahrner has made a conscious decision to embrace all aspects of her life, both positive and challenging, fearlessly delving into her vulnerabilities. The result is a collection of songs that not only showcase her artistic talent but also serve as a therapeutic outlet.
She said of the EP, “This EP is truly a labor of love, but also a needed release. I feel so grateful that I've been able to bring this vision into the world - however terrifying it is often times. Thank you all for your support and encouragement and love!!!”
