  • ROSIE Releases New EP “5 Songs for Healing”

  • New York-based singer-songwriter ROSIE released her sophomore EP “5 Songs for Healing” on June 23, 2023 via Arista Records.

It is her first body of work in two years since 2021 debut EP “20mg of Happiness”.
The EP comprises 5-track, produced by AFTERHRS, Benzi Edelson, Johnny Shorr and Johnny Simpson.
“Creating 5 Songs For Healing was truly a healing experience for me,” ROSIE said of the EP. “This body of work represents the honest truth about the full range of emotions I felt while going through this process, and as each song was written, I learned something new about myself. I believe these last couple years have been some of the most difficult times the world has seen, and I hope that this project brings some solace and relief to those who are suffering and trying to get better.”
  • ROSIE explained track-by-track for the EP.

    “Next Life”
“'Next Life' is a complex song for me. Though it is painfully heartbreaking, I wanted to add a sense of hope each time the chorus circles back, 'maybe in my next life I can live my best life.' This song evokes a wide range of emotions, but I hope that ultimately it sends the message: we're all just human beings, doing our best to feel our best, whether it is in this life, or in our next life.”

    “Someone You Once Had”
“The process of creating 'Someone You Once Had' was both painful and cathartic at the same time, because it's about learning to love myself in the face of heartbreak, hardship, and loss! It's easy to search for self-worth in someone else, but this song is about me finding it within myself for the first time, and finally feeling confident in who I am. 'Someone You Once Had' sets the tone perfectly for my EP, because it captures all the themes of this next project, sonically, lyrically and visually! This song-and the EP-are ultimately about healing; healing my heart, healing my relationship with myself, and building my self-confidence.”

  • “Startover”
“'Startover' comes out on my birthday and if you're wondering what I want for my birthday, I want this to find everyone who needs to hear it! This song has multiple meanings to me, but at its core, it is about my relationship to myself and my mental health (specifically depression). When writing it, I was in a period of my life where I felt like I was in a constant fight with myself. This song is me realizing that I needed to let go of certain parts of who I was that were no longer serving me, and start rebuilding myself from the ground up. I hope this song finds anyone else who's experiencing this, and I hope that they're able to see that they are not alone in what they're going through.”

“I Should Just Go To Bed”
“It captures a really pivotal moment in my healing journey. This song marks the beginning of me learning to trust my gut, and instead of saying something or doing something I will regret, I decide to just go to bed instead.”

    “Potential”
“It is about seeing the best in someone even when you shouldn't, and recognizing the consequences of having a big heart. As painful as it is to walk away from someone you love, you know deep down it would be more painful to stay. Creating this song healed me in so many ways, I learned so much about myself, and I hope it has the same effect on everyone who hears it!”
