Grace Gaustad Releases New Song “The Cloud”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Grace Gaustad released a new song “The Cloud” along with a music video on February 17, 2023.
The song will appear on their upcoming sophomore album “PILLBX: whts ur fantasy?”, which is expected to be released in 2023.
The track was written by Grace Gaustad, and Scott Effman who also produced it.
The accompanying video was directed by Van Alpert.
Grace Gaustad said of the song, “'The Cloud' is a song about the epidemic of loneliness we all feel from the primary relationship we have with our cell phones. We've become so dependent on our phones that we now store the best parts of our life somewhere in the cloud, as opposed to enjoying them while they're happening.”
- Grace Gaustad shared on social media, “Welcome to 'The Cloud.' I wrote this track about feeling lonely and wishing there was a pill that could erase that feeling. We as a society are so caught up in our phones, we forget to live the life right in front of us. We store our entire lives up in this place called the cloud. We can't see it. We can't feel it. We just know it doesn't make us feel good. We know it makes us feel lonely. Yet we continue to use it because our minds are addicted to its magic. 🪄 🌩”
The new album comprises 13-track. Initially, the album was supposed to be released in 2022.
They told The Line of Best Fit about the album, “I have to give this awful, global pandemic that we went through a little credit because I don't know if I would have come up with the big concepts unless I was in my room with not a single thing to do. I was stuck with my mom in the house for two months and I'm like, well I guess I'll just write another album since this one is never going to come out.”
