salute Premieres New Song “Wait For It” on BBC Radio 1
Manchester-based DJ salute premiered a new song “Wait For It” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the first single after signing to Technicolour, a Ninja Tune imprint.
Also, the song is the first music since the 2022 EP “Ultra Pool”, which was released last August.
The track was written by Felix Nyajo and Leslie Fields. Produced by Felix Nyajo.
They wrote the song around the same time as the 2021 single “Joy”.
“like Joy, this is a song I started years and years ago and struggled to finish. A thousand iterations and an amazing vocal, we have Wait For It, a tune I am really stoked to be putting out on Technicolour.”
- salute told Clara Amfo about the song, “'Joy' and this I actually made when I was quite sad upset like a couple years ago. I think my sad has just kind of manifests this way those kinds of words, but I wasn't in a good place. It doesn't sound like a bad place, but it's all good nerver.”
They continued, “I feel like with this tune I made around the same time as joy and I feel like back then or even just now my influences are very much so fantastic, kind of stuff and that's the stuff and really feeling other minutes of classic house was listened to. Those are like DJ Jack, Michael Gray like the house media that got into when I started listening to house music.”
They added, “This is such a summary today and I thought why don't release it now to get people up for the summer.”
