Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Camila Cabello & Hans Zimmer Team Up for New Song “Take Me Back Home” from BBC One “Frozen Planet II”
Cuban-American singer-songwriter Camila Cabello and German composer Hans Zimmer teamed up to release a new song “Take Me Back Home”.
The song is the theme of the BBC's upcoming nature documentary series “Frozen Planet II”.
The track premiered on BBC Radio 1 on August 26, 2022 ahead of a first-look trailer for the Sir David Attenborough-narrated series.
Camila Cabello said in a statement, “To be able to combine my passion for the planet we live on and my music is a dream come true – never mind also getting to work with the legend that is Hans Zimmer. Frozen Planet II is stunning and Sir David's narration is deeply powerful as we try to protect these incredible ecosystems from global warming. I'm grateful to be able to lend my voice to such an inspiring series.”
Also, she shared on social media, “I wrote a song with [Zimmer] for Madre Tierra. Anyone who knows me knows this feels so true to me. The natural world is an endless well of awe, magic, and deep belonging to me. I had this song in my body, in my soul for many many years before we wrote it.”
Hans Zimmer said, “It was hugely exciting composing and recording 'Take Me Back Home' with Camila and discovering that her musical talents are as powerful as her voice. “Frozen Planet II” will be on BBC one and iPlayer Sunday 11th September at 8pm.
This six-part series – narrated by Sir David Attenborough – explores the wildlife found in the world's coldest regions: the Arctic and Antarctic, high mountains, frozen deserts, snowbound forests, and ice-cold oceans. From polar bears to penguins, and from snow monkeys to Siberian tigers, each species must overcome a unique set of challenges to endure its extreme environment.
