WARGASM Shares New Song “Fukstar” from Debut Project “Explicit: The Mixxxtape”
- London-based metalcore band WARGASM, consisting of Milkie Way (vocals/guitar) and Sam Matlock (vocals/bass), will release their highly-anticipated debut project “Explicit: The Mixxxtape” on September 9, 2022 via Republic Records.
From the album, the band has shared the second single called “Fukstar” along with a music video, following “D.R.I.L.D.O”.
It was written by Sam Matlock and Rachel Hastings. Produced by Charlie Russell. The accompanying video was directed by Vicente Cordero.
The band said of the song in a statement, “Every day the rich seem to get richer and the poor get left behind. Old men are flying off in rockets with celebrities while murdering our environment. Fukstar is the soundtrack to Wargasm's disillusionment with the nature of the corporate billionaires, and the idiots that let them gain power, who seemingly have our world in a chokehold. You aren't gods, you're just another Fukstar.”
- The debut project comprises 7-track, produced by Charlie Russell and Кирон Пеппер (Kieron Pepper).
Milkie Way told Kerrang! about the project , “We know we're at that point now where we're ready to release an album, because the hardest part of being in WARGASM recently has been resisting the urge to leak all these fucking songs! They're outrageously good – I love them so much – and I can't wait for people to hear them.”
Sam Matlock said, “There's something to be said for coming from a songwriter background. It means you always want to be better, you always want to explore and evolve, and that's been the hold-up with the record. We wanted to get it to the point where we're like, 'Fuck me, this needs to come out!'”
