  • Remi Wolf Premieres New Song “Cake” featuring PinkPantheress on BBC Radio 1

  • American singer-songwriter Remi Wolf premiered a new song “Cake” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Sian Eleri.

The song will appear on her upcoming debut album “Juno” deluxe edition.
She teamed up with British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress on the track.
It was written by Remi Wolf, Jared Solomon, John DeBold, Harry Mathews, Nicholas Mira, and PinkPantheress. Produced by Solomonophonic, Internet Money and Nick Mira.
Remi Wolf told Sian Eleri about the song, “A little feature from our good friend PinkPantheress. She sings a little line on the chorus. We actually wrote the song together back in November when I was in London for about a month trapped there because of some COVID stuff and I ended up just staying for a while and writing a bunch of music. And this song 'cake' kind of came out of that trip and there's this little spot in the chorus that needed a little something and I don't know I love it. I love what it adds to it and it's fun to have a little mystery sneak attack. I mean, absolutely. I feel like 'cake' is such a different sound than what I'm normally used to. I mean, we like really kind of leaned into the whole drum and bass in the production and it's just like much more poppy than my sounds from we are it's like kind of more of like a dark pop. So I'm glad you guys like.”
  • She continued, “It means a lot to me. I wrote down the first lyric of the verse when I was at this cafe and I was kind of I was going through a breakup at the time. And the first lyric is I think I'll get a cake tattoo to remind myself that I can't have it and eat it too. And I don't know this. This song is just kind of me trying to remind myself that to not be so like greedy in love and just to kind of like, let things happen. Yeah, I actually got a kick tattoo on my leg.”
The deluxe edition comprises 19-track, including the previous 13-rack, 5 new songs and one live track.
The album is out June 3, 2022.
