Dude Safari Releases New Song “Treading Water”
British grunge-pop band Dude Safari released a new song “Treading Water” on April 29, 2022.
The song is their second single of 2022, following “I'm No Good (At Any Sports)” released back in February.
It was written by Jamie Tipson. Mixed and mastered by Jake Day at North Acre Studio.
The track is heavily influenced by the loss of the band vocals and guitarist Jamie Tipson's mother last year.
Jamie Tipson said of the song, “When the song was in the first stages of being put together, it was real slow on acoustic guitar...it was one of those sad slow tracks that usually appear on albums. It didn't really fit in that sense, and given what the song is about, huge..dramatic loss & an awful year in the general worldly humanic state as it was also. So I just sped up the melodic guitar part and tried to make it sound less depressing. Maybe I'll write a sad song when the world is in a more happy place, to balance it out a tad more.”- Dude Safari consists of Jamie Tipson (vocals/guitar), Ben Burroughes (guitar), Fred Higley (bass) and Chris Hunt (Drums).
The band formed during the 2021 lockdown and managed to release five singles “Bug Hunter”, “Lead Balloon”, “Big Worse”, “Maybe It's A UFO”, and “Doom & Bloom” during the year by recording and mixing at home and by using remote studios. -
