Liverpool-based alt-rock band The Mysterines premiered a new song “Dangerous” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is taken from their upcoming debut album “Reeling”, which is set to be released on March 11, 2022.
It was written by Lia Metcalfe and Callum Thompson. Produced by Catherine Marks.
Lead vocals, Lia Metcalfe told Clara Amfo about the song, “I think there's a single person you can't relate to that. I think it's probably one of the most explicit lyrics in terms of being genuine on the record. Just sort of lay the cards on the table.”
She continued, “It's weird because I found when I wrote dangerous I sort of think of it as my gateway song almost. And it was the song that sort of turned that around for me because I often struggled to perform songs that I was vulnerable in because I didn't want to put myself in that situation in front of an audience or whatever. A lot of the time, I like to sort of conceal the emotion behind like characters and whatever but with dangerous it's definitely.”- The band worked with a producer Catherine Marks on the album.
She said of the working with Catherine Marks, “I was slightly intimidated by how cool she was. Because she was just You just hold this like aura about her which is she knows exactly like who she is. And you know what she's going to achieve. But it also sort of instilled an ambition and being with the record because I completely trusted her from the get go and I knew I could see a clear ending and it was more exciting in the room, so.” - source : BBC Radio 1
