The Weeknd Releases New Song “Take My Breath”
Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd unveiled a new song “Take My Breath” along with a music video.
It is the first single from his upcoming fifth studio album “The Dawn”, which is the follow-up to his 2020 album “After Hours”.
Also, the song is used a promo for the U.S. women's track and field team at the Tokyo Olympics.
It was written by Oscar Holter, Belly, Max Martin and The Weeknd. The video was directed by Cliqua.
The Weeknd said, “Songs that tell stories and create worlds have always been why people get lost in music. I always try to immerse myself in that tradition and foster that escapism.”
The new album is expected to be released this year. He told GQ about the album. “What makes any of my albums a successful album, especially this one, is me putting it out and getting excited to make the next one. So the excitement to make the next project means that this one was successful to me. I want to do this forever.
