First Trailer for Francis Lee's New Film “Ammonite” starring Kate Winslet & Saoirse Ronan
- The first trailer for British film director Francis Lee's new film “Ammonite” arrived on August 25, 2020.
The film is inspired by the life of British palaeontologist Mary Anning and stars Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan.
The story focuses on friendship and life of Mary Anning (played by Kate Winslet) and British geologist Charlotte Murchison (played by Saoirse Ronan).
Mary Anning became known around the world for finds she made in Jurassic marine fossil beds in the cliffs along the English Channel at Lyme Regis in the county of Dorset in Southwest England. Her findings contributed to changes in scientific thinking about prehistoric life and the history of the Earth.
Charlotte Murchison and her husband Roderick Impey Murchison had been travel for geology across Continental Europe.
Their voyage to the southern coast of England, Charlotte Murchison met Mary Anning. Both went fossil-hunting and became close friends from then on.
The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2020.
It is scheduled to be released November 13th.
