Canadian singer-songwriter Betta Lemme premiered a new music video for “I'm Bored” directed by Betta Lemme herself.
The song was released on May 8th following “Play” released last April.
The video was filmed with her iPhone in her home. She originally wrote the song as a joke
Betta Lemme told United By Pop about the song in an interview, “I’m Bored” was written one year ago. I didn’t think anything of it until recently when I realized how much I started relating to it. I began seeing people on the news who were still going out and living their “best lives” despite the fact that they were actively putting others at risk. That being said, I’d much rather fantasize and be bored at home than join that ride. Right now, being bored is a privilege and I’m going to embrace it.”- She shared on social media, “I’ve never made a more personal video. This is what FaceTiming looks like. This is my celebration of Boredom. These are my friends. These are my thoughts: The world has been turned upside-down, but I feel lucky that I have the ability to stay home and be bored because right now being bored is an absolute privilege. We are all alone in this together. Some people eat a jar of Nutella, read, cry, or have a gazillion video calls each day. Others dance with the stuffed animals they never wanted to admit having.
