Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Phlake x Mercedes the Virus Share New Music Video for “Baby Steps”
Danish R&B duo Phlake teamed up with Mercedes again to release song “Baby Steps” last month, following 2018's “Waited All Summer”.
“It’s is about taking small steps towards big changes. The way to hell is paved with good intentions. And the freeway of dreams can take you for a hell of a ride”, Phlake said of the song.
On December 3rd, the duo dropped a new music video for “Baby Steps” directed by Erika Marthins.
The duo explained about the concept behind the video, “We only develop as human beings when we leave ourselves open to be influenced by the external world”.
The clip features Elie Autin, who played infecting the gender fluid character.
Erika Marthins said of the video, “the virus is a full 3D character developed using a feminine base model. The Face filter was inspired by Airports’ infrared thermal scanners used on passengers to detect elevated body temperature and possible viruses. The technology uses heat-sensing abilities that will turn you into a heat map on a computer screen. We found the aesthetics very interesting to apply to a face filter.”- Previous Collaboration Song “Waited All Summer”:
