  • Echosmith Performs “Lonely Generation”, “Tell Her You Love Her”, “Cool Kids” at Paste Studio NYC live from The Manhattan Center

  • American alt-pop band Echosmith appeared on Paste Studio NYC live at The Manhattan Center to perform “Lonely Generation”, “Tell Her You Love Her” and “Cool Kids”.

“Lonely Generation” is the first single off of their upcoming sophomore album of the same title.
The song is written about social media generation. “It’s really sad, and it’s definitely something that I think needs to be talked about more,” lead singer Sydney Sierota said. “If anyone else feels this way too, I hope they can hear this song and feel a little better about it. I hope they can also feel inspired to do something about it.”
The album is set to be released on January 10, 2020. It is their first LP in seven years.
  • “Tell Her You Love Her” is the eighth song on their debut album “Talking Dreams”. Sydney Sierota said, “Tell Her You Love Her” might be my favorite because it connects so well with so many people that we perform it for. It’s about taking the opportunity to tell someone — it doesn’t have to be a relationship; it can be a family member or friend — how much you love them and care about them. I don’t think you can ever regret complimenting someone in life. You’re not going to regret saying that rather than the opposite. I think everyone can kind of relate to that song."
“Cool Kids” is their debut single, released in 2013. The song has sold over 3 million sales in the US and became Platinum Disic. She said, “We didn’t write the song with the intent of, ‘Oh my gosh, I want to write a hit single, and I want people to know our song.’ Obviously you do want that, but when you write, you need to be honest; we wrote this song because we relate to it. Everybody at some point, whether you’re a kid or not, you do have that desire to be like somebody else, and you constantly compare yourself. And it’s an everyday decision to decide not to.”
