Los Angeles-based Canadian singer-songwriter Anjulie Persaud, aka Anjulie released a new song “Big Bad World” along with a music video.
The song follows up “Call Me By Your Name (Montero)” released in June.
Anjulie said of the song, “Navel-gazing narcissism is rewarded in this constantly connected, depersonalized, and performative world. It's about turning a blind eye to the horrors of humanity like ecological collapse, terrorism, school shootings, and crippling economic inequality while being distracted by shiny new tech, social media and the incessant gamification of social status.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Dan Lemoyne. She said, “I made the official music video for "Big Bad World" with Canadian director Dan Lemoyne. Dan created a world of stunning projection-based tableau for me to emote against; a personal existential crisis within a planetary existential crisis. Heavy social commentary hidden inside the levity of a whimsical melody on a bed of cinematic sound design.”- source : SoundCloud
