Ali Gatie Releases New EP “The Idea Of Her” with New Music Video for “Do You Believe” featuring Marshmello & Ty Dolla $ign
- Canadian singer-songwriter Ali Gatie released his sophomore EP “The Idea Of Her” on March 26, 2021, along with a new music video for “Do You Believe”.
The EP comprises of 10-track featuring guest appearances from Marshmello, Ty Dolla $ign and Tate McRae.
The EP is a love letter to love itself. It takes the ever-anonymous muse “her” as its subject.
“The opening song is as beautiful and joyful as can be, and then 'Can't Let You Go' is as sad and hopeless as it gets,” Ali Gatie explained. "'Can't Let You Go' is as sad and hopeless as it gets, and that's what this project is about — the rollercoaster of emotions that being in love brings to your life. It's not just about one relationship, it's about love as a whole. The type of love that takes a day to happen and the type of heartbreak that takes years to recover from. 'Her' is a metaphor for love, and the project is about me being in love with the idea of love."
- On “Do You Believe”, he worked with Marshmello and Ty Dolla $ign. “This song started as a ballad for me,” he said. “I loved the idea of a song about running away and choosing love over everything. After finishing it, I felt like a song about believing in the power of love should feel more anthemic and heroic. That's why I decided to collaborate with Marshmello and Ty Dolla $ign.”
Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae collaborated with him on “lie to me”. “Working with Ali was a really amazing experience,” Tate McRae said. “I've always loved his music so I'm super stoked to finally release this collaboration. We wrote the whole thing over FaceTime, in quarantine!! It was crazy.”
On the same day of the EP releasing, Tate McRae also released hersophomore EP “TOO YOUNG TO BE SAD”.
Ali Gatie will be live-streaming an exclusive performance on April 8 and 9 in partnership with premium digital live platform Moment House.
