Agnes Obel Releases New Album “Myopia”: Streaming
- Danish singer-songwriter Agnes Obel released her fourth studio album “Myopia” on February 21st. It is her first LP in four years.
The album comprises of 10-track and its concept is about trust and doubt. Agnes Obel explained, "For me Myopia is an album about trust and doubt. Can you trust yourself or not ? Can you trust your own judgments ? Can you trust that you will do the right thing ? Can you trust your instincts and what you are feeling ? Or are your feelings skewed ?"
The album is recorded in her own Berlin home studio. She laid down all the basic tracks herself and later brought in John Corban on violin for six tracks and cellists Kristina Koropecki for five tracks and Charlotte Danhier for two.
“The albums I’ve worked on have all required that I build a bubble of some kind in which everything becomes about the album,” she said. “For me the production is intertwined with the lyrics and story behind the songs. Paradoxically, for me I need to create my own myopia to make music.”
She embarks on a headline tour in the UK and Europe. The tour kicked off at Rough Trade East in London on February 21st.
Also she will support Dead Can Dance's US tour in April and May.
