Pet Shop Boys Premieres New Song “Monkey business” on BBC Radio 2
- British synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys unveiled a new song “Monkey business” on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on January 2nd.
The track will appear on their upcoming fourteenth studio album “Hotspot”, which is out on January 24, 2020.
In a statement, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe said of the song, “We’ve actually written, almost for the first time in our career, a groove song.”
The duo will release a full “Monkey Business” single February 7th on CD, digital and 12-inch vinyl.
The album comprises of 10-track, featuring guest appearance from Years & Years. It is their first LP in four years.
The duo will embark on Dreamworld Tour in Europe and the UK. The tour kicks off at Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin in Berlin, Germany on May 1st.
Also, they will appear on 2020 Glastonbury Festival in June, along with Taylor Swift and Paul McCartney.
- On BBC Radio 2, Nicki Chapman asked Neil Tennant, “Talking of live work, you’re going to be touring the UK later this year… I can’t see Somerset down there… you know I’m thinking perhaps Glastonbury,” Neil Tennant replied, “Somerset, um, of course Glastonbury is in Somerset…”
Then Nicki Chapman asked, “Have I put you on the spot?” Neil Tennant answered, “You have put me on the spot, let’s just leave me there…”
