Tom MacDonald Releases New Song “Stronger Version”
Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald released a new song “Stronger Version” along with a music video on December 15, 2023.
The song is the second single since the collaborative album “The Brave 2” with American rapper Adam Calhoun, which was released back in September.
The track was written and produced by Tom MacDonald. The accompanying video was directed by Nova Rockafeller.
Tom MacDonald said of the video, “We’ve been working very hard to bring y’all this new music video. I think half of you will probably love it…and half of you will probably hate it...but it’s one of my favourite things I’ve ever made.”
He continued, “I’ve never made a beat like this. I’ve never wrote a song like this. I’ve never done a video like this. Doing something new is always terrifying...and I admit, I’m a little scared…but in my heart, I know that it’s the right thing to do - and that’s all that matters.”
- “My new video 'Stronger Version' is for the folks who've been through it like I have,” Tom MacDonald said. “I'm sure you find this hard to believe. But I used to be a loser. I was an alcoholic. I was an addict. I had horrible mental health problems, anxiety, depression, I couldn't hold a job. I couldn't keep an apartment. I was broke all the time. I was homeless all the time. I was drunk all the time. I was alienating myself and pushing my friends away and ruining every opportunity.”
He continued, “But then I got sober and I went to therapy and I started being reliable. And I worked on myself and I matured and I grew up and I evolved and I chase dreams and I got 40 number ones on Billboard and I met my idols and I sold out shows and I retired, my mom. I became the things that I was put on this earth to be so I want you to know if you're going through any of the things that I went through my brand new music video stronger version is for you, and you can take you and make you into a stronger version of you, if I can do it.”
