  • The Chainsmokers explained some tracks for the album.

    “Summertime Friends”
Drew Taggart said, “I fell in love with this girl named Mari last spring which you probably know by now if you if you've been following this page for the last 6 months. A few weeks after we started hanging out i was in NYC in the studio and wrote this song called 'Summertime Friends' about the night we met. I had run into her at this party in LA (classic). We had known each other in passing for a couple years but never had a substantial conversation. She said hi to me at the bar where I was stuck making small talk with a couple I didn't really know. She looked so beautiful, way out of my league, and in my memory, a foot taller than me. We stepped aside and ended up talking way too long and far too deeply for this type of party. She told me about her family, her ambitions, and that she didn't believe true love existed. It was laughable how much we had in common. I remember thinking 'how has it taking this long for us to talk?' I think I knew then that we were supposed to be together. Luckily I had the courage to ask for her number at the end of the night and luckily she was feeling open minded. The songs ends there so I guess that makes this post a spoiler alert. I love writing about small moments especially ones with tension like this. I hope it makes you feel something.”

  • “Think Of Us” with GRACEY
“GRACEY wrote this incredible song about her boyfriend not picking her up and instead making her ride the 214 bus (I dno I guess that's in London somewhere)... she let us produce it and insert my voice over a double time drop to appease my ego. we are still arguing about if we used the right vocoder at the end but now it's too late. We love it and made maybe our favorite cover art ever inspired Wong Kar-wai and by inspired I mean completely copied. If you are feeling generous you'll find a way to relate it to the song but mainly it's just a sick photo.”

“See You Again” with ILLENIUM and Carlie Hanson
“Our second collab with ILLENIUM. What a huge moment for american electronic music! congratulations ILLENIUM for putting up ed sheeran numbers in Denver. We are so honored to be a part of this moment with you. Align with good people always!!!!!!”

“Jungle” with Alok and Mae Stephens
Alok said, “Jungle has been in the works with The Chainsmokers for over a year now and I'm glad we finally found the right mixture. The addition of Mae was a perfect fit and the response we got premiering it at Tomorrowland in Belgium told us we were on to something special. I can't wait for everyone to hear the final product and to perform it all over the world.”
The Chainsmokers said, “We couldn't be more excited to be collaborating with Alok and Mae respectively. We have been friends and following Alok's work for years and always admired his shows and have been trying to find the right record for over 4 years. We were both picky because we wanted to make a record we could both perform at the biggest shows but also something that lent itself to a fan outside of the festivals. Mae is also just a brilliant up and coming artist and she absolutely nailed the vocal. Hopefully like Alok we will have 1,000,000 ppl at our future shows thanks to this collaboration.”
Mae Stephens said, “I never imagined I would be working with the Chainsmokers and ALOK this time last year. As a starting artist I never imagined anything like this would happen. But they are so kind and it has been so awesome to be a part of this song and the video! The guys are amazing and performing with them was one of the best moments of my life.”

    “Self Destruction Mode” with bludnymph
Drew Taggart said, “I've struggled with drinking throughout my career as it's an addiction that's woven into the environment we exist in. this guilt of not being good enough or not being better ironically sends me into a spiral that restarts my bad habit cycle. This song isn't a cry for help but more of an embrace or celebration of all that I am. I know that I'm flawed. I know that I am great and so are you. Never forget it.”

    “Up & Down” with 347aidan
“We all know that feeling... life's got you down, but thats why music is so important because we also know that feeling when you attend a show and lose yourself in a crowd and find that joy. Up and down in the crowd finally I feel better now!”

    “My Bad” with Shenseea
“By cursed I mean this was one of those records you write and immediately fall in love with and then spend a year cutting amazing singers again and again and until you finallly find the right fit. God bless Shenseea for bringing more life to this song.”
