  • LP Releases New Album “Love Lines” with New Music Video for “Dayglow”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Laura Pergolizzi, aka LP released their seventh studio album “Love Lines” along with a new music video for “Dayglow” directed by Juan David Salazar on September 29, 2023 via BMG.

It is their first album in two years since the 2021 album “Churches”
The album comprises 12-track, produced by Matthew Pauling.
LP made the album with Canadian-American rock band Palaye Royale's Andrew Berkeley Martin, Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer's Ashton Irwin, and GRAMMY-nominated producer-songwriter Matthew Pauling between the island of Grand Cayman and Palm Springs.
LP said of three collaborators, “These three people mean so much to me. I've always made a good portion of my personal music with people that become like family to me and this is certainly that. There was immediate chemistry between the four of us and it carried us swiftly and euphorically through these sessions and beyond. I think you can hear it in the music throughout this record and I'm thrilled to be able to perform it for you all. Thank you Andrew Berkeley Martin, Ashton Irwin and Matthew Pauling for the hang of a lifetime.”
  • LP said of the album, “This is the essence of me and what I've spent my life doing and cultivating and trying to understand and figure out. Even as a human, I feel like I just keep getting more and more dense, concentrated. I'm more me every fucking year. I'm like that coffee that you gotta add water to that's like 15 times the strength.”
They continued, “It's putting someone at ease, helping their mind let go and get them ready to receive these emotions. Then they can let the song speak to their soul in the way that they want.”
Also, LP told Wonderland Magazine about the album in an interview, “I was exploding with ideas and so were my friends. I felt very connected lyrically to myself and I was very fast in the concepts. I was very reflective, and I'm really examining my feelings. I was coming out of a relationship, I was kind of starting one, but knowing that I wanted to stay open and just do my thing. I was having a bit of a personal romantic relationship renaissance for myself that I haven't allowed myself and just trying to focus on honesty especially with myself and what I wanted that I hadn't allowed myself for a while I think.”

  • LP explained about some tracks for the album.

    “Golden” via Wonderland Magazine
“It's a deceptively simple song, especially lyrically. It takes a lot of going through a lot of shit to get to a place to feel golden with all your exes, your mistakes, all the blame and finger pointing that goes on during and after a relationship. I feel like I'm single for the first time in a billion years and I've never been less lonely, you know. I feel like I am enjoying myself and other people immensely now. It's very present which is a lovely feeling. I feel like Golden is a symbol of that.”

    “Dayglow”
"The 'Dayglow' video might be the gayest thing that has ever happened to me. I might have to come out again! I was so thrilled to be able to have fun and be a part of Pride in one of my favorite and one of the most beautiful places in the world, Prague! I want to thank all of the Prague Pride community for welcoming me with such open, loving arms. It was an honor to show you off in this video! I know the joy and love will be received as it was meant, and the love will be infectious to the global community as well."

    “Long Goodbye”
“Long Goodbye is a love letter to my last two long relationships where I felt like in some ways we didn't want to but had to end things for the long term health and well being of both of us. It probably sounds a bit more noble than it really is! The situation deserved an epic and bombastic moment for what it's worth, and I think we got one.”

    “Love Song”
“When we were recording in Palm Springs, I was working with Ashton Irwin of 5 Seconds of Summer, and he really wanted us to do an upbeat song for this session. He came up with a beat, and Andrew added the riff. The title 'Love Song' came to me - it's a very generic title obviously but conceptually I felt like I could hone it into an original story in its own right.”
