Carlyn Releases New Song “Try To Get Away”
Canadian indie-dream pop singer-songwriter Carlyn released a brand new song called “Try To Get Away” on June 2, 2023.
The song is the second single of 2023, following “Bad Habit” released back in March.
The track was written by Carlyn Button and produced by Tim Buron.
Carlyn said of the song, “My new song, 'Try To Get Away,' is about two people who know they shouldn't be together but just can't help falling back into each other every chance they get. It's as if the universe is playing games with them, bringing them together over and over to see if they can resist, but they never do.”
She explained about her music, “To me, music is storytelling. Some stories have a deeper mission statement but some are just for lighthearted pleasure. However all of them have a setting, characters, a thesis statement, a beginning, middle and end.”- She said of a cover artwork of the single, “The artwork is a drawing by Joanna-Maria who has created all of the artwork for my singles these last couple years. It always starts with a concept and a colour. I was sure 'Try To Get Away' would be pink and black, and wanted a glamorous image with something ghostly incorporated. She brought my idea to life with the frightening image of the character in the reflection of some chic Y2K inspired sunglasses.”
