ARXX Premieres New Song “Ride or Die” on BBC Radio 1
British alt-rock gal pal duo ARXX, consisting of Hanni Pidduck and Clara Townsend, premiered a new song “Ride or Die” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song will appear on their upcoming debut album of the same name.
It was written by Hanni Pidduck and Clara Townsend. Produced by Steven Ansell. The accompanying music video was filmed by Rosie Powell.
Hanni Pidduck told Clara Amfo about the song, “I mean, the song is started out about like a relationship and, like, the kind of like level of like commitment and dedication, I think is really present in queer relationships, especially like that kind of like, this isn't always easy, but I with you. And then it became for us like about each other and about this record of like, there's things have fallen to the wayside in our lives because we've committed so much to this band. And it's never a question it's just always like, 'you come first Clara, you are like my band wife'. Everybody in my life and I likewise but you can't like they realized that the band is first and then everything else comes after that.”
- Hanni continued, “I can't speak for our producer to be fair. We're actually listening to a lot of build says lemonade album. It came from like the song she does with Jack White. We need this moment just on anything we do. We need this moment and this was the song that came out of that.”
The debut album is set to be released on March 31, 2023. It features 11-track.
The duo said of the album, “It's I think it's a very varied record. But we kind of wanted to show like all of the sides of what we are what we theme and like what is coming to now.”
The duo on social media, “We made it with our tambourine queen Steven Ansell and the glorious and wonderful Katietavini. We have so much love for our dream team. We had the honour of collaborating with one of our favourite artists BONNIEANDCLYDEART. Honestly a big dream.”
