Danish-Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis released a new song “Hurtless” with an accompanying music video on April 1 on 2022.
The song follows up “Looks Like Me”, which was released last October.
It was written and produced by Dean Lewis and Jon Hume.
The video was directed by James Fitzgerald, who filmed it in in Ireland, featuring Frank Blake and Stephanie Dufresne.
“You know when you plan your entire life out with someone, you see your future with that person, then all of a sudden one night, they do something and from that point on, you realise they are not the person you thought they were?” Dean Lewis said of the song in a statement. “All your plans for the future aren't going to happen and you're back to just being with yourself.”- Also, he shared on social media, “I remember watching as the song came to life, it flowed down when I was in Los Angeles on a warm, sunny day. It felt like the final song I had to write to close off and truly say goodbye to someone I loved! Sometimes in life you expect things to go a certain way, and you make all these plans and you have all these dreams and it can all just change in one instant! And as soon as the words “it was never meant to end like this” played back to me over the studio speakers for the first time, I knew I had something special!!! I wrote 'Be Alright' seven years ago!! And I know how rare these songs are to come by!!! 'Hurtless' has that little sprinkle of magic on it That is so elusive and difficult to capture, I'm so glad and thankful that it landed on this song!!!”
