Alicia Keys Announces New Album “Keys”, Shares New Song “Best Of Me”
- American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys announced her eighth studio album “Keys” would be released on December 10, 2021.
The album is a double album. Alicia Keys shared on social media, “My new album, 'Keys,' will have two types of songs. Originals & Unlocked. The Originals come from that classic side of me! It’s that AK that we WANT!! A homecoming. The Unlocked side, I wanted to sample ‘The Originals’ to create a whole other sonic experience. So, [Mike Will Made It] and I connected and made magic. Together, they are a fusion of the worlds within me with the #KEYS as the main ingredient.”
From the album, she dropped a new song “Best Of Me”, which consists of two versions Originals and Unlocked.
It was written by Raphael Saadiq, Andrew Hale, Stuart Matthewman, Sade and Alicia Keys.
The track sampled Sade's 1992 song “Cherish the Day”.
She told ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY about the song, “It's my favorite song. The zone on this song is so transportive. You're just transported to a whole other realm when you listen to this. And it's true they have a similar energy, 'Best of Me (Original)' and 'Best of Me (Unlocked),' but when you really get into it, you start to hear the nuances in how they are different, and how there's maybe a little more gentleness in the "Original" one, and a little more "Grrr" in the "Unlocked" one.”
