Swedish singer-songwriter SHY Martin has unveiled a new song “Make Us Never Happen” following “Same Old” and collaboration song “Keep You Mine” with NOTD.
It was written by Elias Näslin, Hayley Aitken, Litens and SHY Martin.
"A few years ago, I fell in love with my best friend, only to later realize it was a big mistake,” SHY Martin said of the song. “I’m not sure if he felt the same way at the time, but deep down I think he knew it too. We never talked about it, because when the truth isn’t what you want it to be you tend to make up your own version of events. Our relationship was short and intense and ended up being very destructive for the both of us. We tried so desperately to make it work that in the end we couldn't see the damage it had done.”- She continued, “Looking back now, the reason why we couldn’t make it work was simple. We needed each other, but not in that way. Breaking up and the end of the relationship wasn’t the worst part though; it was the fact that I lost the person I cared most about. We destroyed the precious friendship we’d once had, when all we’d really wanted was to save each other. It’s not that we didn’t try to go back to being friends, but sometimes it just isn’t possible to go back and undo things. It took me a long time to accept that I wouldn’t get my best friend back and that I had to let him go."
