Natisa Gogol Releases Debut Song “Wind Of Hope”
Ukrainian singer-songwriter Natisa Gogol released a debut song “Wind Of Hope” along with a music video on February 24, 2023.
The song will appear on her upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released this year.
On February 24th, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and Natisa Gogol forced to flee her Kyiv home at 4.45 am.
She was about to release an album and go on tour; Instead, she found herself escaping to the Polish border, sitting in a friend's car in the dead of night.
The triumphant song, inspired by the terror-stricken experience of fleeing her home in Kyiv with her young son, delivers a powerful message about holding onto strength and hope, even in the most disastrous and dark of times.
The track was written by Natisa Gogol, Gregory Darling, Noanne, and Andrii Pasichnyk. Produced by Gregory Darling.
Natisa Gogol told Atwood Magazine about the song, “It is a cry from my soul. When you cannot keep silent, when tears come to your eyes and your heart is full of pain but also of a bright hope. This song is my personal anthem for goodness, hope and victory!”
Natisa Gogol is now safely residing in Prague.
- Natisa Gogol said of the music video, “The video and music brings together people from all walks of life and cultures, and shows the power of human connection, as well as the strength of the Ukrainian spirit. This one is for Ukraine 🇺🇦”
On February 24th, she first performed the song at the Hlavni Nadrazi train station in Prague, the one year anniversary of the war in Ukraine. This station is where the refugees arrived.
Natisa Gogol shared on social media, “It was beautiful to be able to perform my song “Wind Of Hope” yesterday at the main train station in Prague, a welcoming destination for more than a hundred thousand of my fellow Ukranians in the last 12 months. Beautiful but also very, very emotional. Thank you to everyone who has supported — and continues to support - Ukraine over the last year 💙💛”
