Canadian singer-songwriter Sophia Fracassi released a new song “Somebody” on July 9, 2021.
The song is her second single following “Wish I Never Met You”, which was released back in March.
It was written by Sophia Fracassi, and Steve Molella, who also produced the track.
“Loneliness does not discriminate. One can feel the overwhelming grip of loneliness while they are surrounded by friends and family, as well as when they are completely by themselves. I believe when it comes down to it, being lonely is actually a longing to be known,” Sophia Fracassi explained. “I wrote 'Somebody' during a time in my life where I had really never felt more alone. In retrospect, I find the timing ironic considering it was written less than two months before the whole world was shut down for the pandemic. I have now experienced in a whole new way what it truly feels like to be lonely and I think many other people have too.”- She continued, “If you have ever felt trapped by your own emotions and want to let it all go, 'Somebody' is for you. Each part of the song is a different stage of going through your insecurities, your fears, your past hurt and trauma, and the desire for protection – the desire to feel free from these things that weigh you down. The positive flip side of this self reflection is the recognition of what you truly want and need. I think there's actually a kind of freedom that comes from admitting those things.”
