Alma Grace Releases New Song “Girl Fight”
- Mexican-American singer-songwriter Alma Grace released a new song “Girl Fight” on February 25, 2021.
The song will appear on her upcoming debut EP “FRIDA”. The track is inspired by Frida Kahlo story.
Alma Grace shared on social media, “I wrote this song almost two years ago - I was a freshman in college embarking on my first real project as an artist. It had to be Frida, it's always been Frida. As a kid, my grand mother would bring me back posters & coasters & matchboxes with Frida's face on it. She broke boundaries placed on gender, sexuality, redefined beauty standards, slept with the women her husband had affaires with...I hope girl fight empowers you to love whoever you want to love. I wrote it to dispel the myth of women figuring over men-we've better off with each other!🤍”
The EP is set to be released on May 5, 2021.
- Alma Grace is a 20 year-old activist, artist, and actress born and raised in New York City. Her mixed musical influences are reflective of a globalized upbringing— she learned how to love from Selena, make witty comebacks from Shania Twain, and turn pain into art from Lauryn Hill.
As an activist, she attended her first protest at the age of 13, has volunteered with community-based organizations in Harlem, and has worked in both the Bronx and the U.S. Senate to defend immigrants facing deportation — a cause close to her heart as a second generation Mexican American.
