Hablot Brown Releases New EP “OPAQUE”: Streaming
- Los Angeles-based neo-soul/R&B trio Hablot Brown released their third EP “OPAQUE” on May 4th. It is their first EP in two years since “Soulection Black Label: Hablot Brown”.
The EP contains 6-track featuring '80s contemporary sound vibe with sleek including R&B, soul, and jazz.
Written by Floyd Fuji, Linus Hablot and Sol Was. Produced by Austin Daniel Brown, Daniel Memmi, Floyd Fuji, Insightful, John Brown, John Sterling Brown, Pro-Jay, Sol Was, Trey Kams and William Van Zandt.
Frontman Linus Lester-Hodges said, “OPAQUE was written from behind the glass seen in the album art. The record symbolizes our tribulations while trying to see though this glass… At the end of the EP, we realize that the glass is translucent and we are able to move forward.”
- Hablot Brown consists of twin brothers Austin Brown (production, keys, bass, guitar) and John Brown (drums, co-writing), who hail from Franklin, MA, and Linus Lester-Hodges (vocals, songwriting) who grew up in Singapore.
The trio released the debut EP “Smiley Drive” in 2017. Followed by, the second EP “Soulection Black Label: Hablot Brown” was released in 2018.
The band has been streamed collectively over 43 million times, as well as being featured on Spotify playlists like Global Viral 50, Sweet Soul Sunday, Alternative R&B, Butter and were on the cover of Fresh Finds.
