Dylan Premieres New Song “Perfect Revenge” on BBC Radio 1
London-based singer-songwriter Dylan premiered a new song “Perfect Revenge” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song follows up “The Alibi” and will appear on her upcoming debut album. Dylan told Jack Saunders, “Nearly done this close to being done. I mean this year.”
The track was written by Natasha Woods, Vera Carlbom, and Matt Schwartz who also produced it.
Dylan said of the song, “I understand that there is power in being the bigger person, and that 'the best revenge is to have enough self worth to not seek it', but sometimes that is not always the answer. My perfect revenge is releasing a song called Perfect Revenge. I am hoping the person the song is about will hear it everywhere they go, making me completely inescapable. You can run, but you can't hide!”- Dylan told Jack Saunders about the song, “I feel like this is the first song where I've been like completely 100% in the sound to production like the lyrics, how it makes me feel. And like me putting myself out into the world. Because it's Dylan does disco but with big guitars. It's intense just like me as a person.”
Also, she spoke to NME at BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend in Luton about the song in an interview, “It’s for all my unhinged girlies out there. Life is just too short to not be petty and I feel like it’s acceptable to be a psychopath some of the time. I needed to get some tension out, and that’s how the song evolved. It’s my version of a disco song, so I want people to feel elevated by it.” -
She shared on social media, “A song about absolutely nothing and yet entirely everything at the same time. For my unhinged girly wurly petty pop queens. For moments of madness and curing those of sadness. I made this song with my besties Vera Carlbom & Matt Schwartz.”
