Liam Gallagher & John Squire Announce Debut Album “LIAM GALLAGHER JOHN SQUIRE”, Share New Song “Mars To Liverpool”
British singer-songwriter Liam Gallagher and British rock band The Stone Roses' guitarist John Squire have announced their debut album “LIAM GALLAGHER JOHN SQUIRE” will be released on March 1, 2024.
The collaborative album comprises 10-track, produced by Greg Kurstin, featuring Joey Waronker on drums.
The pair recorded the album during three weeks of sessions with Greg Kurstin in Los Angeles.
Liam Gallagher said of the album in a press release, “I can't wait for people to hear the album. I think the people that are into The Stone Roses and Oasis and that kinda thing, I think they'll fucking love it. It's spiritual, it's crucial.”
John Squire said, “It was really inspiring to have those Knebworth gigs fresh in my mind as I started writing. Then it was a case of trying to steer it away from all being too rocky, and trying to mix up the sentiments as well.”
- He continued, “I like the way that in some parts, it's quite melancholic and it can make you well up, but there are other parts that are kind of irreverent, rude or crude. There's a little bit of everything in there, I think it's a really good mix. I had a hunch that we'd sound good together, but I wasn't prepared for it to be such a good fit.”
From the album, they released the second single called “Mars To Liverpool” on January 26, 2024.
The music video for the song was released on February 2, 2024. Directed by Kit Monteith.
The track was written by John Squire and produced by Greg Kurstin.
