Idina Menzel Releases New Song “Beast”
American actress and singer-songwriter Idina Menzel will release her upcoming album “Drama Queen” on August 18, 2023 via BMG.
The album comprises 10-track, featuring a guest appearance from Nile Rodgers.
For the album, in addition to Nile Rodgers, she worked with Jake Shears, Justin Tranter, Sir Nolan, Simon Wilcox, Laura Veltz, Jim Eliot, Maty Noyes, Mitch Allan, Lindy Robbins, Chantry Johnson, Michelle Zarlenga and more.
It is her body of work that is a departure from what she's put out in the past.
Idina Menzel said of the album, “I am a Drama Queen...I’m dramatic and emotional and passionate. I love the stage and the spotlight. I love the attention and the roar of an audience. I have big feelings. I sing my ass off through tears of joy, heartbreak, anger, and sadness.”- She continued, “This project is the most fun I’ve ever had writing and recording an album. I want everyone to move and sing with me and embrace their inner Drama Queen. So, from this Drama Queen to anyone and everyone who wants to join me in celebration: I’ll meet you on the dance floor or at the stage door or wherever you will have me. This album is for you.”
From the album, she released the third single called “Beast” on July 21, 2023.
The track was written by Justin Lucas, Idina Menzel, Nolan Lambroza, and Simon Wilcox. Produced by Sir Nolan.
Idina Menzel said of the song, “I love it. It's kick ass, it's aggressive. It's about unleashing the beast inside us all. I just love the grooves, got kind of like early '80s vibe to it. I really enjoy performing it. I love blasting it in my car.” -
