Rob Grant Releases New Song “Lost at Sea” featuring Lana Del Rey
American pianist and composer Rob Grant, who is known as American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey's father, released a new song “Lost at Sea” from his upcoming debut album of the same name on June 2, 2023.
The track features a guest appearance from his daughter Lana Del Rey.
It was written by Rob Grant and Lana Del Rey. Produced by Luke Howard.
“Lost At Sea is a deeply emotional and ethereal song. It combines the beautiful vocals of Lana Del Rey woven into a hypnotic piano composition,” Rob Grant said of the song in a press release. “Lana’s voice is haunting and powerful. It moves ghostlike like through the song like mist over the ocean.”
He continued, “The song has a deep message of hope for all of us who feel lost and disconnected in today’s world. ‘Lost At Sea’ is the reason I made my album: to share music that can bring some peace and calm to a very anxious world.”
- The accompanying music video features his family and friends and never-before-seen images of Lana Del Rey and her siblings.
Rob Grant said of the video, “It was an extraordinary experience filming onboard a 55-foot ketch in the Pacific in extremely rough seas and high winds. The final video is very personal and interspersed with rare family footage of the Grant family growing up.”
He added, “When the editor who worked on the Lost At Sea video first heard the song and saw these images, she told us later she could not stop crying. I know it had the same effect on me.”
The debut album is out June 9, 2023 and comprises 14-track, with contributions from Jack Antonoff, Luke Howard, Laura Sisk, Zach Dawes, and featuring Lana Del Rey.
