  • Dead Alright Releases New Song “Strong Enough to Fail” featuring Alexandre Lindsay

  • Montreal-based punk rock project Dead Alright, who is the solo project of Brand New Lungs and Never Hit Again frontman Louis-Charles Berthiaume, released a new song “Strong Enough to Fail” on January 27, 2023.

The song is the second single off of the upcoming album, following “Smoke & Mirrors” which was released on January 13, 2023.
Louis-Charles Berthiaume plans to release one song a month until the album is complete.
This time, Dead Alright teamed up with Never Hit Again's bassist Alexandre Lindsay.
The track was written by Alexandre Lindsay and Louis-Charles Berthiaume.
Louis-Charles Berthiaume said of the song, “There's a new song, it's called Strong Enough to Fail and it's one of my favorites on the album. I was joined on this track by a good friend of mine, Alexandre Lindsay who plays bass in Never Hit Again. I just love his voice so much, and I'm so glad he accepted to sing this part.”
  • He shared on social media, “Every time I'm writing songs nowadays, i find myself thinking how relevant it is to still be doing that at 30-something years old (almost 40, let's not kid ourselves), is there someone that still cares? I'm not playing in Foo Fighters or even a mid-tier band, at what point does it become pathetic?”
He continued, “But you know what, I care. I still have so much fun writing songs and I don't know what i would do with that energy otherwise. So I guess i'll keep on doing it as long as i'm having fun, and i love to learn what works and what doesn't. I personnally think the process is a big part of the fun.”
He said, “That same way of thinking goes into pretty much anything I think. Learning to do a new hobby, learning to speak in public, learning to skate. You gotta accept the fact that you'll fail, and enjoy the process enough to get better. And who cares if you fail? Probably no one but you, so roll up your sleeves, and keep going.”

  • When the release of previous song “Smoke & Mirrors”, he shared, “This is the first of a series of songs, and it's been a long time coming. A lot of work went into these, and i'm super proud to finally release it in the wild. The plan is to release one song a month until the album is complete.
It has been recorded over 3 years at Lindbergh Studio by Jean-François Girard. Mastering has been done by the almighty Vincent Côté, and the drums has been performed like a beast by Julien Domingue (who i can't tag because he doesn't have facebook except for a week in 2010 i think).
In Smoke & Mirrors in particular, the piano intro has been performed by my brother-from-another-mother Louis-Philippe Milot, and Miguel Sarazin from Never Hit Again (show them some love!!) lent me a hand for the guitar solo.”
