Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez performed her latest song “MUTUAL FRIEND” acoustic version.
The song was released as the second single from her upcoming sophomore album “YESSIE” last month.
It was written by Jessie Reyez and Ryan Williamson, who also produced the track.
The performance video was directed by Philip Harris.
Jessie Reyez told Billboard about the song, “They were like, 'F–k, Jessie, come on.' I've done it before, where I've written songs an hour after a fight: got out the car, slammed the door, went to the studio. [Debut EP] Kiddo was made that way. So it wasn't really new to me, but I guess it was new for them to have a song that came from a convo that happened literally within the day. So they were just like, 'How? When?' It was funny — for me.”
The album “YESSIE” is set to be released on September 16, 2022.
She said of the album, “Almost feels like the real first one. the album is a blend of bullsh-t I've gone through and the bullsh-t I anticipate going through.”- source : YouTube
