  • The Wombats Premieres New Song “Is This What It Feels Like to Feel Like This?” on BBC Radio 1

  • British alt-pop band The Wombats, consisting of Matthew Murphy (vocals/guitar/keyboards), Tord Øverland Knudsen (bass), and Dan Haggis (drums), premiered a new song “Is This What It Feels Like to Feel Like This?” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song will appear on their upcoming EP of the same name, which is set to be released on November 18, 2022.
The EP follows up their fifth studio album “Fix Yourself, Not the World”, which was released back in January.
The track was written by Matthew Murphy and Rich Turvey, with production by Mark Crew.
Matthew Murphy said of the song, "I remember driving past an extremely rundown hotel and wondering what the hell could be going on in there, and that's where this song was born. It's about catching someone in a compromising situation that's very unusual for their specific character and is far more fitting for your own."
  • Matthew Murphy told Clara Amfo about the song, “I mean the songs definitely not about getting your child to a camp while someone else takes your dog to the vet for some surgery but yeah, I guess this morning has been pretty weird but it's definitely not what that particular song is about.”
He continued, “I think I was driving or walking past some very shady sketchy looking place and then I obviously let my mind wandering and thoughts about all the kinds of things that could be happening in there. And then it one but so far that it then became me kind of busting in on my like, partner in a very compromising situation. And then I guess it wandered even further to the point where the songs kind of about I thought it was supposed to be me that was doing this kind of bad stuff. So how come it's you, and that's where it came from. But as I said, I don't know what happened. I just walked by some very rundown area and various thoughts came up.”
