American singer-songwriter Dixie D'Amelio, aka Dixie released her debut album “a letter to me” along with a new music video for the title track on June 10, 2022 via HITCO.
The album comprises 15-track, featuring guest appearance from Stephen Kirk, including her debut song “Be Happy”.
She recorded the album between 2021 and 2022. Initially, she started the project as the debut EP in 2020. But she scrapped the EP and morphed the project into the album.
Produced by Stephen Kirk, Jenna Andrews, Peter Fenn, Gian Stone, Morwell, Dim Cru, Nathan Butts, Supa Dups, Tyree Hawkins, Alex Bilowitz, Christian Medice, Ella Boh, Jackson Foote, and Max Thulin.
Dixie D'Amelio said of the album in a statemane, “This is deeply personal to me because it not only shows my growth professionally and musically, but I really wanted it to represent past and present experiences that haven't been the easiest to overcome for me. I'm excited for fans and listeners to hear it because I think they'll all be able to find ways to connect to the songs and the lyrics.”- tu-anhyBuaA
She has been writing for two years and worked with many different writers and producers for the album.
She told V Magazine, “There are so many different elements to these songs and this album. There are themes of love and relationships, hardships I've faced through late teenhood and entering adulthood, and some fun, carefree songs. The best way I can describe it, a letter to me is about entering your 20s, reflecting on the past, and looking forward to the future. ”
She continued, “For the past two years I've put my head down and really focused on figuring out who I am as an artist and what I want to sound like. I've put in the work and I think this album really shows that. My growth as an artist has given me the confidence to have fun in the studio and try new ideas.”-

“This song is an amazing introduction to a letter to me – which really is an honest compilation of things I have experienced and learned from. I'm so proud of what this album is as it represents growth, not only personally, but professionally and musically.”

“'a letter to me' is the most perfect story of me right now. That's the most current song, like how I'm feeling right this second. I have no clue what I'm doing but I'm figuring it out and we're gonna do it.”

“I wanted to share the honesty of this message with others, especially those around my own age. I remain so grateful for the people that surround me and the opportunities I've been given, but some days, as we all know, it's not easy to be happy. My hope is that anyone who listens can be reminded that it's okay to feel what we feel. It's okay have a bad day. We all have them and you are not alone.”
