Gallipoli Releases Debut EP “On Vodno”: Streaming
Los Angeles-based alt-pop duo Gallipoli, consisting of Aman Sheriff and Lucas McCone, has released their debut EP “On Vodno”.
The EP comprises 4-track, which was written during the 2020 lockdown, where the two lived in North Macedonia for six months.
“On Vodno” received its title from the name of the mountain they lived on during this time.
All songs were written and produced by Aman Sheriff and Lucas McCone. Thomas McCone co-wrote “Blurry Mess”, “Poets” and “My, My”.
The EP emits a wintery and isolated atmosphere, emphasizing the “music for film” approach. Soft, echoing melodies lay the foundations to their laid-back, hypnotic tones, as velvet vocals shimmer delicately throughout.
The duo shared on social media, “It's been an interesting couple of years with all that's been going on in the world. We started writing this EP around november 2020 in North Macedonia without really knowing how it was gonna turn out. By the end of it we fell in love with the songs. We officially formed as Gallipoli last summer in L.A, played shows and received a lot of love and support. We decided to finally say “fuck it” and moved to L.A.”
The band name is as an homage to their family history, the duo are named after the famous WW1 “Battle of Gallipoli”.
