Clo Sur Releases Debut EP “Blood and Sunshine, Part 1”: Streaming
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Clo Sur released his debut EP “Blood and Sunshine, Part 1” on March 18, 2022.
The EP comprises 5-track featuring guest appearance from French DJ NEZZY.
All songs were written by and produced by Clo Sur. “All My Fault” was co-produced by NEZZY.
Clo Sur said of the EP, “When looking at the songs I had written, there was a clear divide between the collection that felt really well defined by the title 'Blood and Sunshine'. Half of the songs are about reconciling with the past and half the songs are about being totally at peace in the present. It's a title that also reflects the sound of what Solo Ray (the producer) and I created. We wanted a fair amount of grit and saturation on each element while still feeling like polished pop music.”- Clo Sur explained track-by-track for the EP.
“One More Time”
“'One More Time' is about the exhaustion that comes with constantly giving yourself to a one-sided relationship. I think everyone knows what it's like to feel used and powerless and the song exists in that place of trying to take back control by drawing a hard line.”
“All My Fault”
“Nezzy and I met on YouTube after he remixed a single of mine. We talked about collaborating after he sent me a track with no vocals to write over. I love the melodic emotion Nezzy clearly writes with. The guitar lines really inspired the lyrics. 'All My Fault' is about taking ownership for the pain you've caused someone. It can be tempting to reach out and offer that apology, but there's always the possibility that, even if those intentions are good, it may not be what's for the best. Sometimes it's better to leave things as they are. The great thing about songwriting is it allows me to express those things, to offer that apology, to take responsibility, and move on.” -
“Blood and Sunshine”
“'Blood and Sunshine' came from a place of recognizing that you can forgive, let go and move on without having some perfect moment of closure. I found the visual of blood drying out slowly in the sun really powerful and more accurate to my experience of healing.”
“The Wonder of You and I”
“Any songwriter knows that a song can come together in a hundred different ways. Sometimes you feel like you're chipping away at a brick wall and other times it's like you already discovered something finished and you can't remember how it came together. 'The Wonder of You and I' represents the latter. It's a simple love song about recognizing my wife daily and I'd say what's so satisfying about it is that when a song comes together like this, quickly and effortlessly, it's almost like I get to experience it more as a listener than a writer. It's such an interesting experience to have with something you create. You don't have time to obsess and critique every little detail. I'm so grateful to have that experience with a song that serves as a personal reminder to be present, and it's a reminder I'm excited to share with others.” - source : Apple Music
