  • Biffy Clyro Premieres New Song “A Hunger in Your Haunt” on BBC Radio 1

  • Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro premiered a new song “A Hunger in Your Haunt” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming ninth studio album “The Myth of the Happily Ever After”, following “Unknown Male 01”.
It was written and produced by Simon Neil, James Johnston and Ben Johnston .
Frontman Simon Neil said of the song, “'A Hunger In Your Haunt' was a riff I'd had kicking around for a while. It's an expression of pure frustration. There were moments in the past year when I just wanted to scream my head off. I lacked purpose and didn't want to get out of bed for a while, and the song is a wake-up call to myself. You need to get a fire in your belly and get up and do something, because no-one's going to do it for you. It's like a self-motivating mantra.”
The album comprises of 11-track and is set to be released on October 22, 2021.
He said of the album, “This album is a real journey, a collision of every thought and emotion we've had over the past 18 months. There was a real fortitude in A Celebration [Of Endings] but in this record we're embracing the vulnerabilities of being a band and being a human in this twisted era of our lives. Even the title is the polar opposite. It's asking: do we create these narratives in our own minds to give us some security when none of us know what's waiting for us at the end of the day?”
  • Simon Neil told Clara Amfo, “Last year for everybody it was such an annoying time no one knew what was nothing to kind of grab a hold over rely on. And that's what the song is about trying to find something just to kind of anchor you and connect to help you through a tough time. And I think we're also even know still trying to process everything we've been through and try to come out the other, and so that's what this is all in the whole album really is just a bit trying to kind of understand and kind of embracing being unsure as well, I'm a bit of a control freak appoints you certainly with my music and things. And last year, it was impossible to be a control freak, you know, we all host control so there's a certain there's searching in the record and in the song, but I just feel very happy to be able to make music, and to have something that brings that brought us some joy as three friends you know they've been doing this when we were teenagers, and hopefully it brings some joy to some fans.”
